As the twilight has its brief interlude, the street lights of Currumbin begin to flicker into life. The swimmers have left the beach and there are just a few remaining people playing ball games on the sand as a domestic airliner passes overhead on its final approach into Coolangatta Airport.

The tyre marks on the sand were produced by a four wheel drive lifeguard vehicle.
This has quite an ominous feeling to me. The circled lines in the foreground coupled with the descending airplane make this very mysterious. A very provocative image! Diane - Daily Walks - 6 Mar 2011

Fascinating image, has an otherworldly feel to it. The circling airplane enhances the mood here. Excellent job composing this image Gavin! John Maslowski - 7 Mar 2011
Our airpot is also very close to major beach. When a plane posing over there, it felt just above my head and almost able to touch. ben - 7 Mar 2011
