 | Resident of Australia and born in 1948. My motivation as a photographer comes from a passion for creating and
collecting images. I also like to view and enjoy the photographic works
of other enthusiasts. I receive much inspiration fom doing this.
I
grew up, lived and worked in Sydney, until 1984. Education, an
occupation in electronics and raising a family filled those years.
I
perceive life as a sequence of chapters. The next was a decade spent in
the beautiful island state of Tasmania, where pottering around in boats
and exploration were the adventures of that era. A desire to experience a warmer subtropical climate took me to the mainland state of
Queensland for some years where more exploration and the wonderful 'verandah life
style' were enjoyed. |
My interest in imagery began to emerge from a chrysalis of visual creativity at about age ten. By my early teens I was receiving private tuition from professional artist Lionel Taprell who shared with me his understanding of how to implement atmosphere, light and color using the medium of oil paint. Instruction was also received in the other basics such as composition and the concept of expression, for instance.
In my twenties, I exhibited and sold oil paintings in the 'Saints Gallery', in suburban Sydney.
I returned to Sydney again early in the year 2000 and having acquired a digital camera have been finding my way in the new medium of photography. I find participation in the various photoblogging communities is rewarding, as much instruction in technique and style can be received by visiting other photoblogs. I welcome all comments from other photographers as i am always ready to learn more from like minded people.
As of mid June 2007 I have moved again, this time, back to Queensland. Now there will be images from that state posted on this blog.
